HOW IT WORKSEVENTSWAITLIST

Happy to meet you!

Hello! I'm Cathy Moore and I've been teaching yoga for 11 years, practicing for 25. My passion is to help you heal and recover from traumatic events, whether you've had one or several events, large or small, and also for those who have grown up with trauma and are living with the effects.

All classes/programs/memberships here are designed to help you reclaim your love for life, love for yourself, and to fasttrack your path to wholeness. I've had firsthand experience with this myself so I've made it my mission to streamline your recovery so you have less twists, turns and curveballs on your path! I am so excited for you to join me on this journey and spread the love to others who are struggling needlessly.

This is me playing the flute, another of my passions. I started in 5th grade and never stopped. I have recently realized my love for playing flute and music in general has been good medicine and was a large part of how I survived mentally and emotionally, so healing music and sound plays a big part in my trauma healing yoga program.

A Little Bit More About My Journey

On my personal journey, I’m a survivor of childhood trauma myself, and have been diagnosed with PTSD as well as ADHD. After jumping into some less than healthy relationships, I discovered Al Anon and uncovered my own codependency. The 12 step recovery program was a huge part of my healing journey, I'd say it brought me half of the way, along with playing my flute, but then I found yoga. In the midst of yet another dysfunctional family situation, feeling the need to lose some weight after having a couple babies, (my body wasn't springing back quite as fast as I wanted it to), I went to the YMCA near me and started working out. I happened to notice a yoga class there, and remembered watching "Lilias, Yoga and You" back in the 70's on PBS as a kid, and loved it. So I started taking yoga there for the first time as an adult, and I remember that first Savasana was like nothing I had ever experienced. The complete surrender and residual energetic sense I felt was not only foreign to me, it was life-changing. I cannot begin to express the feeling of profound peace and joy as it was something I had never experienced. I started staying after class to talk to the teacher and asking questions (this was very atypical for me as an introvert.) He finally lent me a copy of The Yoga Sutras, (like the user manual of Yoga) and I devoured it, and began to do yoga so often I soon enrolled in a teacher training program and after much study and practice became a yoga teacher. I am now an E-RYT 200, and in training to be an E-RYT 500 with the Uplifted Yoga program.

All of that to say, Yoga took me the rest of the way, full circle, I did do some counseling as well, but what helped me heal from my PTSD and most trauma issues & codependency was yoga and the 12 steps. I'm not saying I'm totally free of all symptoms but they are few and far between now and I know what to do when triggered. I know I need yoga, I need to remember what the Yoga Sutras & 12 steps teaches, and to use the tools of yoga as I practice, breathe and meditate.

In a desire to share these tools I've learned that have saved my life, I've developed a program that I believe will allow you to find this profound peace of mind and joy as I have, only in a streamlined fashion so you can get there much quicker. I've become certified in Trauma Informed Yoga and Y12SR, (yoga for 12 step recovery) and combining all of this and the latest research on trauma healing & sound healing with yoga, all into one transformational journey for you. When you join my membership you will have unlimited access to the whole program, or you can take what you like and leave the rest, and just do a class or a workshop, either live or pre-recorded, take advantage of the wellness coaching or meditation classes, many ala carte options as well. I can't wait to meet you and join you on this healing journey!
